Close-Up/ Macro Photography

As i have been house bound for the past 2 weeks due to illness and the weather I havent been able to travel away from my house. So I did a few pictures in my garden to build up my work.

I came across these gorgeous icicles around my house so wanted to record them. They looked better in macro as you could see more detail in the icicles this way. This picture was kept in colour.

I decided to give this image a black and white filter. I think I prefer the image in colour and it gives the image a cool effect.

Whilst I was walking to the beach yesterday these two little birds caught my eye. They were very brave and let me get quite close to them. I used this for a close up image. I used natural light for all of these images.

My camera accidentally focused on the people in the background rather than on the birds, but I like this. I like how the camera has focused on the background rather than the fore ground. It makes the image look more interesting.

I placed my camera on top of a wall facing towards the sea and focus of the wall with the sea in the background out of focus. I then used auto colour on photoshop to get the images natural colour and added a lot of contrast to give the image more depth.

This picture was taken just outside of the house we were staying in. This flower caught my eye. The colour was so beautiful and vivid so I did a close up shot of the flower and added contrast to bring brighter colours and depth to the picture.
