Glass Bottle

For part of the studio brief we were asked to photograph a coloured water bottle. I couldn't find a coloured water bottle that i liked so I used a blue glass bottle instead.
We had to use a honey comb, beauty dish, umbrella and soft box to photograph the bottle and then decide which image looks the best with which type of modifier.

Here are some contact sheets of all the images from the shoot:

For this image I used a honey comb. As you can see, the honey comb makes the image look dark and acts like a 'spot light' putting light onto one side of the bottle. The light causes a clear, blue shadow.

A beauty dish was placed on the light for this image. The beauty dish gives the bottle a soft, natural light and makes the image look even.

I decided to photograph my water bottle using the beauty dish. The bottle looks too see through. I think that a coloured bottle is better to photograph

A soft box was used for this image. A soft box diffuses the light all over the object giving the bottle a soft, even look.

This is the last image. This picture was taken with an umbrella and it brings the same effect as the soft box. The light makes the image look even and soft.

I think that all the images look good with the different types of lighting. But for a commercial or advertising picture, the umbrella or soft box would look the best.
